Field Services

Field service engineering that knows your controls

When a machine misbehaves, WESA engineers come to your floor to find the fault and fix it. We diagnose drives, PLCs, wiring, HMIs and motors, then get the system running again.

Diagnosis from people who understand the system

A drive trips, an HMI throws an alarm, a motor stalls. The symptom shows up a layer above whatever caused it, so our engineers work down through the stack until they reach the actual fault instead of swapping parts and hoping. The same engineer who reads your PLC logic also checks the wiring, the drive parameters and the HMI behavior, so nobody waits on a second specialist to drive out.

Engineering, panel build and service share one building in Elgin, so if the panel came off our floor, the drawings and its build history are usually pulled before an engineer gets in the truck. For systems we did not build, we trace the wiring and logic that is actually there and write down what we find, so the next call starts from a drawing instead of a guess.

What we troubleshoot

Common field calls we handle on industrial control systems.

Drive faults
Diagnosing and clearing VFD and servo drive faults, checking parameters, feedback and protection so equipment runs at the right speed and torque.
PLC program issues
Tracing logic problems, communication dropouts and I/O faults in the PLC program, and correcting them with the change documented.
Wiring problems
Finding and repairing miswires, loose terminations, broken conductors and grounding issues that cause intermittent or dead circuits.
HMI systems
Resolving HMI faults, alarm behavior and screen issues so operators see accurate status and keep control of the process.
Motor repairs
Checking and addressing motor faults, starters and motor control wiring to return rotating equipment to reliable operation.

Got a fault you cannot pin down?

Tell us what the machine is doing and we will send an engineer who can trace it and fix it.
